Back of House

Position	Description
Server	The Swamp is hiring qualified Restaurant Servers to take and deliver orders. As a Server, you will be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers' experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus, and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude.	Apply
Server's Assistant	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring reliable Server's Assistants to want training to break into the busy restaurant industry! Support the front of house staff and perform hospitality duties as needed. As a Server's Assistant, you'll ensure the restaurant is operating efficiently. There are no formal requirements to qualify for this role, and we are willing to train the right people. However, having related catering or restaurant experience is a plus!	Apply
Host/Hostess	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring a host/hostess whose responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. Barback	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring an observant, adept barback who can work with other staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt, seamless service. The bar back will assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly. Bartender	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. Working Kitchen Manager	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring an experienced kitchen manager to oversee the daily operations of our establishmentâ€™s kitchen staff. Salad Artist/ Dishwasher	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring dedicated Salad Artists/ Dishwashers that are eager to learn the ins & outs of a fast-paced culinary environment. Responsibilities include preparing & maintaining the salad station while cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans & glasses. Other duties include clearing soiled plates & flatware from tables, prioritizing loads of different crockery items & kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher, placing dishes to dry and more. Crowd Control Attendant	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring a crowd control attendant to assist in guiding & managing groups of Swamp attendees based on legal capacity & other requirements. Duties include inspecting that customer identification meets age requirements, maintaining orderliness of crowds, providing customers with tickets and/or wrist bands, escoring rowdy clients off premises, receiving event-related tickets or cash payments prior to prospective customerâ€™s entry & more. Assistant Manager	The Swamp Restaurant is searching for a reliable, innovative Assistant Restaurant Manager to supervise operations at our bustling restaurant. The assistant restaurant manager's duties include scheduling shifts, balancing cash registers, and overseeing payroll. General Manager	The Swamp Restaurant is looking for an organized & goal-oriented restaurant general manager to oversee all aspects of running our restaurant. The restaurant general manager is responsible for hiring & training staff, maintaining a record of all the restaurantâ€™s profitability/revenue/income/expenses, establishing/implementing quality goals, working with kitchen staff when the Kitchen Manager is out, and ensuring that The Swamp meets its sales and customer service goals. Youâ€™ll ensure efficient restaurant operation while maintaining high productivity and customer-service standards. Marketing Manager	The Swamp Restaurant is Hiring a Marketing Manager! We’re looking for a creative and organized leader to oversee social media, marketing strategies, and internal communications. Marketing or social media management experience is strongly preferred. Key responsibilities include: Developing and executing social media, branding & marketing strategies Planning and creating content, maintaining a content calendar Leading promotional campaigns & traditional marketing initiatives Managing internal & external communications Collaborating with the Event Coordinator on promotions & activations This role requires 15-20 hours/week. Photography Intern	The Swamp Restaurant is hiring a Photography & Videography Intern to assist in content creation for a range of marketing initiatives & campaigns. Their duties include, but are not limited to, engaging customers, capturing/ editing weekly photo & video content for Marketing/ Social Media needs across various platforms. The right candidate is engaging, has a goal-oriented mindset, experience in digital content creation & Photography/ Videography & editing skills. Greek Ambassador	Join The Swamp marketing team and gain valuable, professional work experience while you're still in school! This position offers a very flexible schedule, working 3-5 hours per week around your classes, helping us spread the word to the UF Sorority and Fraternity communities about our restaurant and events. Event Coordinator	We’re currently recruiting and scheduling interviews for an *Event Coordinator,* who will assist The Swamp Restaurant with sourcing, coordinating, planning, and executing events hosted at our location. If you haven’t been to an event at our location. The Event Coordinator is the main point of contact for guests planning events; the ideal candidate holds themselves to the highest standards of professionalism, has a keen eye for hospitality, and understands the need to go above and beyond to create memory moments at The Swamp Restaurant. Additionally, he/she is extremely detail oriented and is diligent to ensure every aspect of an event, from planning to execution, is exceptional. Responsibilities include contacting, booking, and following up with all Guest inquiries regarding special events and functions. Keeps a written log of all communications/outreach efforts. Manages events and catering requests while utilizing appropriate systems, including our web backend and Google Calendar. Confirms and communicates event details with owners and appropriate management. Oversees events and participates in the execution. Conducts Local Marketing efforts, including contacting and following up with local businesses, Greek & sport organizations, schools, etc. Builds sales by pursuing new business through community outreach, networking, and cold calls. Reports weekly with metrics and updates. Attends planning meetings with owners, general managers, chefs, and other relevant parties. Produces action plans to achieve desired results and hit all financial goals when opportunities arise. Keeps a clear line of communication within the team including Managers, Chefs, and owners. Event Management Intern	The Swamp Restaurant is seeking an Event Management Intern to join our team. Duties include managing event communications, networking with notable food and beverage companies, coordinating with vendors and staff, working alongside the Social Media & Marketing team to promote events, and assisting in the planning and execution of events of all sizes, ranging from birthday parties to larger parties with high-profile figures and brands. The right candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about event planning and understands that flexibility and the ability to manage tasks independently are crucial to event success. This position is unpaid but has the opportunity to turn into a paid part/full-time position. Social Media Intern	The Swamp Restaurant is seeking a Social Media Intern to join our team. Duties include creating social media posts, creating/editing/organizing photo and video content, writing captions for social media posts, networking with various brands and organizations, completing social media research, and working alongside the Marketing & Events team to plan and promote events. The right candidate is outgoing, a self-starter, has a goal-oriented mindset, has experience increasing & engaging social media followers and understands that good social media management is measured by how well it drives sales.
